Intern - Business Intelligence Strategist

SUMMARY

Serve Church leadership and staff by delivering insights and decision support using analytical skills and an understanding of the Church's business environment. Alongside technical and business leaders, deliver the data and analytics necessary to support effective decisions, discover efficiencies in the Church's data systems, and evaluate business data to determine effective analytics solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Collaborate with business intelligence staff and leadership to build analytics solutions.
  • Assist in evaluating current business processes and recommending enhancements.
  • Design reports and dashboards to support ministry and executive needs.
  • Build up an understanding of business processes and support business informational needs.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office to write technical requirements and participate on a project team as requested.
  • Assist in building a business intelligence center-of-excellence to support a wide variety of analytical and reporting needs for mission leadership and staff.
  • Participate in multiple regular interactions with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and the director of mission analytics and decision support to maintain awareness of current needs.
  • Complete or assist on other projects as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Information Technology or other Business Intelligence related field)

Intern - Web Communications

SUMMARY

The web communications intern will work under the supervision of the Web Solutions team to further the mission of the Church through web content management and creation. The intern will be included in various team communications and cross-functional project planning/update meetings and learning/training opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Recommend fresh ideas for reaching key audiences.
  • Learn and use our current proprietary CRM platform(s).
  • Manage and maintain text, graphics and photography for our Church's internal and external website portals.
  • Assist as needed in tasks related to current web group initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of goals for the audiences for each of our Church's core websites.
  • Create and track web campaigns.

Intern - Information Services Web Application

SUMMARY

This self-motivated and creative individual will have strong willingness and aptitude to learn and practice basic skills in a variety of Information Services tasks for a variety of projects. He or she will perform tasks in a variety of areas, which could include any or all of the following: planning, code maintenance, testing, scripting, coding, deployment, user interface design, user experience and support. He or she will work in a fast paced, flexible, iterative, deadline-oriented department. Intern - Engagement and Program Coordinator

SUMMARY

This position’s primary focus is on assisting the donor engagements. This individual must maintain confidentiality within all job duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Organize one or more giving campaigns via social media
  • Implement and execute various social media strategies
  • Create a year-long social media content calendar
  • Gather and organize video content to be displayed on the ChurchOfFitness.org website. Prioritize the videos, each with a call to action (a next step)
  • Potential opportunity to go on one short-term international trip.
  • Write a compelling article for possible print, PR campaigns, and News segments, based on your investigation
  • Write a summary of recommendations to the Directors on how to best engage with those in their 20’s/ college-age demographic

Intern - Social Media and Events Manager

SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing (Social Media and Events Manager) intern will work under the supervision of the Digital Marketing Manager and Field Events Manager to help assist in the Church’s day-to-day efforts throughout social media, fundraising events, and other digital marketing channels. Intern - Graphic Design for Strategic Communication

SUMMARY

The graphic design intern will be available as needed to help with graphic design tasks. The intern will be included in various creative services  and cross-functional learning/training opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Understand organizational systems or structures for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Learn to use and understand our web-based project assignment and tracking system. This system is used for assigning/tracking projects and includes specifications and deadline information.
  • Organize and keyword all graphic design assets housed in electronic image library. The assets include background textures and images and purchased stock photos to be used in design projects. The key words allow the images to be searchable by design team.
  • Design custom pieces as assigned by the creative coordinator — this process will include meeting with our project managers to understand specific requirements, design work for approval, create design files to specification, prepare files for print or web.
  • Work closely with department director, creative coordinator and design team to develop clear understanding of project flow from assignment, concept, design, layout, approval and production for web and print.
  • Perform layout tasks as assigned by the creative coordinator for newsletters, brochures, etc.

EDUCATION

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in graphic design.

Intern - Video Services

SUMMARY

The Video Services intern will utilize and build upon skills to help with all aspects of our Church's video production including producing, writing, editing, shooting, as well as organizational and archival tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Watch and analyze videos from current staff and team and provide positive feedback for improvement.
  • Organize and Catalog content to be archived on Hard Drives, servers, SD Cards.
  • Assist with equipment check in/check out, music library research and past project/hard drive organization.
  • Act as assistant editor on local and international video projects.
  • Assist with high-end video projects.
  • Assist with shooting videos on an as needed basis.
  • Travel with Field Ministers, Directors, Team Staff or volunteers to Church events and assist with media management, assistant editing, organizing of footage and media acquisition.
  • Learn how our Church uses social media and assist with posting clearly communicative videos on our Church's social media outlets.

Intern - Legal Services

SUMMARY

This self-motivated first or second year law student will have strong motivation to research and write on important legal issues impacting a religious non-profit organization. As assigned by a supervising attorney, he or she will be asked to thoroughly analyze legal questions on issues like tax, human resources, intellectual property, corporations, international transactions, and risk management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Intern - Special Projects / Strategic Planning

SUMMARY

The Special Projects intern will be trained in core principles of project and organizational management, participate with the Church's leadership building team, and assist with large international projects. Intern - Human Resources

SUMMARY

This position’s primary focus is on assisting the Human Resources Department with the development and communication of key Human Resources initiatives. This individual must maintain confidentiality within all job duties.

Paid and Non-Paid Position - Training Associate

SUMMARY

Using specified and unique Church gifts, training methods, and teachings utilized over a number of field Church services, give particular focus to training new Church leaders and congregants, for the purpose of helping the Church of Fitness and Nutrition reach its Church goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Spiritual Development – Focusing on Jesus through prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.
    • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
    • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in one of our Church communities.
    • Actively participate in the spiritual life of our Church.
    • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
    • Ensure that all Church ministry services are designed and carried out with a focus on prayer and a connection to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Leadership Development – Focusing on equipping leaders, committee and staff. Includes: Key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.
    • Help transmit the Church values to those open to the Church teachings.

SUMMARY

This position will require a formal Church training and direct field services education so that you can learn how to effectively carry out and manage Church work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Paid and Non-Paid Position - Business Development (USA and International)

SUMMARY

This position will provide leadership and create growth and development of the Church's operations into all areas of the USA and work towards growth into other countries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee the Church's overall development activities (attempting to reach funding goals of approximately 15M in the funding budget over the next 5 years) including major donor care, sustaining gifts, sponsorship programs by:
    • Developing major donor personal engagement, communication and event strategies to care for existing donor
      base as well as expose other potential major donors to Church ministry opportunities.
    • Advise key Directors and Supervisors on fundraising and major donor strategy in coordination with other Church leaders who are
      also working on major donor strategy.
    • Assist president, key Church leaders, board members, field leadership and volunteers in major donor activities where needed.
    • Work to secure sustaining gifts in accordance with the needs defined in the Church's internal financial forecasts. These gifts are multiyear commitments to fund the Church, as defined in carefully built out sponsorship programs. These gifts include the commitment and acquisition of corporate sponsorship on an annual basis with a minimum of 3 to 5 year commitment.
    • Work to organize, lead and maintain communication for campaign management and distribution.
    • Work to sustain and evolve
      the sponsorship programs (Country, Staff and Programs)
    • Provide oversight and direction to the Sponsorship Department to ensure that annual Sponsorship goals are met.
    • Closely monitor monthly sponsorship activity and help the Sponsorship Department revise plans where needed.
    • Work with the Regional Team Directors to develop and execute initiatives that can be executed
      through regional teams to promote fundraising, support and donor care at a national and international level.
    • Establish goals and strategies for different tiers of foundations as it relates to research, grant writing and
      performance reports.
    • Monitor quality of foundations office support for field needs and internal grants (research and proposals).
    • Recommend National and International Development strategies and ideas designed for growth, improvement, and effectiveness of development work at all levels.
    • Mentor development personnel and call them to think and act strategically, leveraging their time and resources.
    • Help to define and lead efforts to eventually raise a significant portion of our development budget in the areas that the Church is growing into.
    • Help key Church staff expand and further develop the thanking process, including events and personal, electronic, and mail contacts.
    • Work to prepare and monitor financial budgets.
    • Review monthly activities for:
      • Financial Goals and Budgeting,
      • Training – Provide leadership to develop training at all levels in the Church,
      • Actively participate in the recruiting and hiring of additional staff as needed.
      • Participate as appropriate in Church-wide local, regional, national, and international development meetings.
    • Organize, invite, and lead donor vision trips to various venues with purpose of exposing and inviting attendee’s to sponsor and donate to the Church's initiatives.
